Kanha Experience

Wildlife Photography

Kanha rewards photographers who work with habitat, light and patience rather than chasing a single sighting.

Plan slower safari days around light, habitat and ethical wildlife photography.

Plan around light

Early and late safari hours can create different light and contrast across meadows, sal forest and water edges. Build enough drives into the itinerary to allow for changing conditions.

Photograph behaviour, not only portraits

Tracks, alarm calls, bird activity, grazing herds and landscape frames can tell a stronger story than a close animal portrait. Keep distance and never pressure wildlife for a photograph.

Pack for field use

Carry the lenses, batteries and storage you can manage comfortably. A quiet setup, stable support and quick access to binoculars can be more useful than carrying every piece of equipment.

Who this suits

Wildlife photographers, first-time safari photographers and travellers who want a slower visual approach.
